During the overhaul in 2014, the waste heat recovery system of the heating furnace of the continuous reforming unit of Zhonghai Refining and Chemical Company was transformed to reduce the exhaust gas temperature from 180°C to 130°C and improve the thermal efficiency of the furnace. After design and calculation, a plan of adding a spoiler preheater to the upstream side of the original air heat pipe preheater was adopted.
After the transformation, the waste heat recovery system could not be put into use. Through the inspection of the fan, it is found that the cranking is flexible, the single test no-load current of the motor is 31A (rated current 104A), the motor and the fan are correctly aligned, and all aspects show that there is no problem with the mechanical system. Therefore, it is suspected that the starting load of the induced draft fan is too large in the cold air state. When the system cranks and drives the rotor to have a certain speed and then restarts, the fan can be started smoothly. In the state of air leakage at the inlet baffle (two baffles at the inlet are fully closed), the inlet temperature of the induced draft fan gradually rises. When the temperature rises to about 100°C, the inlet baffle is manually opened gradually, but the two regulating baffles of the inlet pipe of the induced draft fan cannot be put into normal operation (the opening of the inlet baffle of the preheater reaches 15%, and the inlet baffle of the induced draft fan reaches 15%). At 50%, the current of the fan reaches the rated current and cannot be opened further. During normal operation, the inlet baffle of the preheater should be fully opened, and the inlet baffle of the induced draft fan should be about 50%). Through this start-up test, two problems are explained: one is that the induced draft fan can start and run normally, and the mechanical system has no problem, and the abnormal problem after the maintenance of the induced draft fan is excluded; In the hot state, the power is still insufficient.
The original induced draft fan and motor parameters are shown in Table 1 and Table 2.

After designing the calculation of the actual process parameters after the start of construction, by increasing the motor coefficient to 1.3 for calculation, it is believed that the input power of the fan can meet the process requirements only when the input power exceeds 64kW. The calculation process is as follows:
N=[17.6×2000×(0.83/0.751)(temperature change correction coefficient)]×1.3(motor reserve coefficient)/[1000×0.8(fan efficiency rate) × 0.98 (mechanical efficiency)] = 64kW
However, the operation department disagreed with the review results of the design, and believed that the design adopts the flue gas temperature of 130℃ and the original design flue gas temperature of 180℃ to correct the temperature change, which is theoretically feasible. However, in the initial stage of fan startup, the gas in the flue is cold, especially in winter, the ambient temperature is even lower than 10°C, and the air density reaches 1.248kg/m3, which is 1.5 times the designed calculation of 0.83kg/m3. This difference is huge. Therefore, the environmental impact at start-up should be considered. At the same time, the motor reserve coefficient can be calculated according to 1.15 times of the industry general coefficient, that is,
According to the calculation, the fan starts when the ambient temperature is 10°C, and the input power needs to reach more than 85.8kW. By comprehensively considering the economic benefits, and according to the factory inventory and order cycle, it was decided to use a 90kW, 4-pole motor from the old inventory, and transform the coupling into a magnetic coupling scheme. Its parameters are shown in Table 3.
After the induced draft fan coupling was transformed into a magnetic coupling, the preheating system was successfully put into use. It has been running for more than a year now, and the system is running stably and reliably.
2. Product structure and the technical principle of magnetic coupling
The magnetic coupling is a device that realizes the torque transmission from the motor to the load through the non-rigid contact interaction between the conductor and the permanent magnet. It can realize the transmission mode without a mechanical connection between the motor and the load. Its working principle is: when the two During the relative movement between them, the conductor components cut the magnetic lines of force, generating eddy currents in the conductors, which in turn generate an anti-inductive magnetic field, which interacts with the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnets, thereby realizing torque transmission between the two. By adjusting the relative positions of the permanent magnet assembly and the conductor assembly, and changing the effective part of the coupling between the two, the torque transmitted between the two can be changed. The main structure (see Figure 2) is: a permanent magnet rotor assembly, connected to the load side; conductor rotor assembly, connected to the motor side. The technology realizes the non-contact connection between the motor and the load, and effectively solves the problems of centering, soft starting, speed regulation and energy saving and vibration reduction of the rotating load system. The magnetic coupling is installed between the motor and the load to transmit torque. By adjusting the magnetic field coupling area between the conductor rotor and the permanent magnet rotor, the load speed change is realized. Before torque adjustment, the coupling area is large, the torque transmitted through the magnetic coupling is large, and the load speed is high; after the torque adjustment, the coupling area is small, the torque transmitted through the magnetic coupling is small, and the load speed is low (see Figure 3). ).

When the magnetic coupling is installed, the position of the existing motor and the fan does not change. It is only necessary to connect the conductor rotor of the magnetic coupling to the motor shaft, and the permanent magnet rotor to the load shaft, and adjust the coupling area. 3. Technical advantages of magnetic coupling

3) Solve related problems caused by pump vibration and fan surge, greatly reducing the failure rate of the system. Extending the life of the motor and load can significantly extend the life of bearings and seals, greatly reducing the consumption of spare parts for the system and reducing maintenance costs.
4) The reliability of the system operation is high, and there are basically no complex maintenance requirements in the system operation. Greatly reduce the labor intensity of workers.
5) Vibration reduction and isolation greatly reduce the vibration amplification effect of rigid couplings. Since the original rigid coupling is replaced by the Qingdao Spring permanent magnet driver, the vibration on the load side will not be transmitted to the motor side, and vice versa; therefore, the amplification effect of the rigid coupling on the vibration can be eliminated.

Through research and use of new magnetic materials, the magnetic circuit design should be optimized, and the optimal number of magnetic poles, air gaps, etc. should be determined to ensure the equipment. 4) Has a reliable cooling structure. The new conductor plate material is selected to improve the thermal conductivity, so that the heat of the magnetic coupling surface can be transferred to the outside in time; the new heat dissipation structure is researched to improve the heat conduction efficiency and heat dissipation capacity, improve the speed regulation curve, make the speed adjustment smooth, and the system runs reliably.

The magnetic coupling has been used for the induced draft fan of the waste heat recovery system of the continuous reformer for more than a year, and the operation is stable and reliable, and no additional maintenance work is required. The use of magnetic couplings for speed regulation of the drum and induced draft fan used in the waste heat recovery system of the heating furnace of the oil refining unit not only has intuitive and short-term energy-saving and power-saving benefits, but also reduces operation and maintenance costs in the long run.
